The home’s Beaux Arts exterior served as the setting of the fictional school that Princess Mia (Hathaway) attended before her true identity was revealed.

The homeowners—Michael Mendes, former CEO of Just Desserts, and his wife, Wendy Berry Mendes —bought the property for $5.7 million in 2009. They’ve preserved its spectacular architecture while adding upscale modern amenities.

According to the San Francisco Standard, the Mendeses’ daughter was a big fan of “The Princess Diaries” when they purchased the home. After two decades there, the family is relocating to the East Coast for new professional opportunities.
